Teenager struck by truck on Sentinel Road

Tragedy struck the York and Jane and Finch community this past week.
Violet Jia Liang, a 14-year-old student of C. W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute, was hit by a truck just before 8 a.m. in front of Elia Middle School while on her way to class. Toronto Emergency Medical Services said Liang did not show any vital signs. She was pronounced dead by EMS after attempts to revive her failed.
According to a Toronto Star interview, Constable Clint Stibbe says the driver made a left turn onto Lamberton where the 14-year-old girl was struck and that the police urge any witnesses to contact them as soon as possible.
