Victim and suspect were known to each other, police say

Toronto Police have arrested a 19-year-old male York student in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Calumet Residence.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Friday, September 7, York Security Service and Toronto Police responded to the report of a sexual assault taking place in the residence.
The suspect was arrested around 3 a.m. and was taken to 31 Division for questioning.
The victim was taken to the hospital to be checked out, but police say she doesn’t have any serious injuries.
Constable Wendy Drummond says the victim, an 18-year-old female York student, and the suspect are known to each other and no charges have been laid yet, as the alleged sexual assault is still under investigation.
