New TYSSE website launched

New and improved, the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension (TYSSE) website is ready and waiting to educate members of the York community seeking information on the construction.

“We have developed the site to be very user friendly,” explains Debbie Cole-Gauer, community relations co-coordinator of TYSSE. “Our old site was a little bit difficult to get through. You couldn’t find things, so we made it very easy for people to find [information].”

With daily updates, a project overview, and accessibility for the visually impaired, the website offers readers organized information. It also gives constant updates on local construction projects.

“We put the current construction notices up,” explains Cole-Gauer. “Any new information that we have, we get up there right away.”

As for the website survey, she says visitor feedback is essential to the website’s development.

“When you’re developing a site, you sometimes are thinking about what people need but then when people actually get on there, they make some other suggestions.”

Cole-Gauer says reviews so far have deemed it a user-friendly, informative site.

“There’s tools to help you plan your trip. There’s educational components like, for instance, tunneling; it tells you all about how to build a subway. It’s very interesting.”
