The Sakura restaurant in York Lanes closed their doors Dec. 1 as they began renovations to upgrade the business’s look.
The restaurant is set to re-open Jan. 4. 
“They’ve been there a number of years, and they’re just going to give it a new look,” explained Lori Bentley, director of York Lanes management.
The menu, which largely features Japanese cuisine, will stay the same, as will Thursday night karaoke events, added Bentley.
A Sakura employee described the plans for their new style as “very modern, very sleek, but very cozy.”
Specific changes include a new front façade; tables and chairs; a new banquet; flooring and paint; and all-new washrooms.
