The north side of the Harry W. Arthurs Common was flooded Dec. 1 after a water main burst under the road near the York Bookstore.
TTC, GO Transit buses and GO shuttles were diverted from the bus loop to York Boulevard until 4:30 pm, when the main was repaired.
The TTC, GO Transit, York security and transportation services and the York University Development Corporation worked together to fix the leak.
Alex Bilyk, director of York media relations, said the broken 40-year-old main was not essential to York’s plumbing, and that it was an old pipe soon to be removed.
