The Lions women field hockey team played their last three games of the regular season last weekend in Montreal, destroying the competition and winning them all to finish the regular season in first place on the OUA standings.
The Lions played their first game on Saturday morning against the McGill Martlets, finishing with a 4-0 win.
OUA goal-scoring leader Jaslan Stirling was at it again, completing a hat-trick, with goals in the 15th, 62nd and 70th minutes. Amber Sandhu scored the only other Lions goal in the 35th minute.
The Lions dominated in their second game on Saturday, beating the Western Mustangs 5-0.
This time, five different Lions found the back of the net. Stirling and Sandhu were on the scoresheet again, while Paige Koochin, Chloe Walton and Claire Church rounded out the rest of the Lion goal-scorers.
The Lions played their last game on Sunday afternoon against the Waterloo Warriors, scrapping past them 2-1.
Stirling, again produced another stellar performance, first scoring in the 2nd minute to give the Lions the lead, and then scoring the winner in the 56th minute, after the Warriors tied the game at one.
Stirling’s five goals this weekend bring her regular season tally to 22 goals, and the Lions finish the season in first place with an undefeated, 10-0-2 record.
