2015 USAY Cup brings South Asian students together

The 2015 USAY Cup was held at the Maple Leaf Cricket Club in King City on Saturday. The event, which was organized by United South Asians at York, consisted of a cricket match and a soccer tournament. Teams from three of USAY’s constituencies, the Pakistani Students Association, the Bangladeshi Students Federation, and the York University Tamil Students Association, took part in the competition.
The PSA and BSF took part in the cricket match, while all three teams took part in the soccer tournament. Kabaddi, a traditional South Asian form of wrestling was also scheduled to be one of the sports played at the event, but was dropped because not enough players had signed up for it. Cricket and soccer are very popular sports in many South Asian countries.
“Our executive team chose to bring back the USAY Cup this year to continue our organization’s legacy of hosting fun and inclusive events in collaboration with South Asian communities at York,” said USAY chair Manisha Joshi-Vijayan.
“We also wanted the event to enable our constituency members to meet and get to know one another and to fulfill USAY’s goal of helping to build networks of solidarity between South Asian clubs on campus.”

Because they are tired of being trolled and suspended for no reason. But mainly because YouTube does not care about their community members.
