First off, I agree with you: Nuit Blanche sucked. The ways that we’ve chosen to respond to the increasing suckage of Toronto’s all-night contemporary art event, however, seem to vary.

Beer 101: Know your roots

Two foreign companies control almost 90 percent of Canada’s beer market. On the shortlist of Canadian stereotypes, beer ranks right up there with hockey and excellent manners. But the three biggest Canadian-owned brewing companies in recent memory – Molson, Labatt and Sleeman – were all purchased by larger multinational corporations in the last two decades.

A supplement of a different flavour

I originally pitched the idea for this supplement as an excuse to drink for an entire week and call it a work expense. I make no apologies for this; Toronto Beer Week gave me one of the few socially acceptable opportunities to have alcohol for breakfast, and I wasn’t going to refuse.
