A freshly renovated Scott Library will be unveiled after the fall co-curricular week, showcasing a group-friendly environment that includes an interactive Learning Commons space and more quiet study areas.
The second floor of Scott Library, currently in its first of two phases, had undergone construction this spring. The completed renovations will be unveiled Oct 20.

Security measures debated
Pub night at the Underground became a fight club Sept. 23 when, in three separate incidents, patrons became rowdy. One community member allegedly assaulted a pay-duty police officer.

York prof helps decriminalize Ontario prostitution
The recent Ontario court decision to decriminalize key provisions of Canada’s anti-prostitution laws was due in part to the efforts of a York professor and his students. Some specific prostitution-related acts were decriminalized by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice Sept. 28, including pimping, running brothels and soliciting.
