Sweet, sweet dreams

(Kate Hudson)

Nights collide where lips once met
meshing together under woozy heads and slurring tongues
tongues without time to be mindful of the sounds they shape to make
make believe the sky comes out to play
for the night has just begun
and clammy palms anticipate the ready set go
of stars that twinkle; a thousand specks on a TV screen
one image caught from far below, with our backs to the earth
early dew rises from the ground meeting hooded sweaters
as the moon strikes zenith
a buzz of friendship
dissolving into tired eyes
huddles of the warmest brand
the night collides once more
with dreams and woozy heads
with you with me
