In their annual study into Canada’s most prestigious law schools, Maclean’s magazine crowned York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School first when it comes to getting graduates jobs at leading firms outside the school’s region.

York’s law school also took the top spot for the highest number of academically cited professors in national and international publications.

For the past two years, Osgoode has been consistent at holding on to second place overall. According to Maclean’s, the only law school better than Osgoode Hall in Canada is the University of Toronto’s faculty of law.

To determine graduate quality, Maclean’s considered four factors: the number of graduates who were hired by elite law firms, the number of graduates who clerked for the Supreme Court and the number of students who were hired as faculty in Canadian law schools.
