The Schulich School of Business is now offering a unique 12-month Master of Management degree program designed for students with no prior business background.

The program is built off of the Master of Business Administration qualification, mirroring the first year of the program but to be completed in one year and eight months.

Unlike other masters programs offered by Schulich, it requires a 7.0 grade point average, with no pre-requisite courses in the honours program required. Additionally, student applicants are not required to write a Graduate Management Admission Test or a Graduate Record Examination.
Introductory workshops are offered before the program starts for accepted applicants, who are also required to take preparation courses in economics, accounting and statistics.

“The Master of Management program will uniquely equip non-business graduates with the managerial knowledge and leadership skills they need to best ensure steady upward career progression,” said Schulich Dean Dezsö J. Horváth.

Schulich aims to provide more of a holistic approach.

“People who finish their [undergraduate degrees] possess knowledge [of] their field, but if they want to run a business they have no idea what to do,” says Farah Abdullah, a kinesiology student.

“A program such as Master of Management could help create future leaders and help provide us with the expertise to excel in our careers.”

The program is open for applications, with the deadline for rounds two and three closing on February 15 and April 15, respectively.
