An arrest has been made in relation to the March 6 Student Centre shooting, which left two students injured.
Kemon Edwards, was arrested by Toronto Police Services on March 13, and is facing eight charges, including firearm possession and aggravated assault.
David Hopkinson of TPS corporate communications says Edwards has had other run-ins with the police, and says there are no other suspects in relation to the incident.
Edwards is also facing charges of careless use of a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent to injure, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace, carrying a concealed weapon, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The shooting occurred in York University’s Student Centre around 10:45 p.m. One woman was shot in the leg and the other was injured by shrapnel from a bullet. Police confirm the two women weren’t the intended targets.
Both victims, York students, are expected to make a full recovery.
