A graduate student was found deceased on campus at his Passy Gardens residence on January 28. At present, the cause of death is unknown, and Toronto Police Services and the Coroner’s Office are investigating.
Janet Morrison, Vice-Provost Students, says the student was a “valued member of our learning community in the faculties of health and graduate studies.”
His name will not be released until permission is granted by his family.
“Our sincere condolences are extended to his family,” Morrison says.
Police are unable to comment as the investigation is ongoing, but Morrison says the university has been given no indication of any risk to other residents.
Letters were delivered to residents of Passy Gardens by Morrison to notify them of the death and to offer support.
“Our primary focus is to ensure that students, staff , and faculty are well supported during this difficult time,” says Morrison.
