The dotted lines have been signed to launch the Indian campus for the Schulich School of Business, complete with an artist’s rendering.
For the past three years, Schulich has been delivering their curriculum and MBA degrees in India, where they jointly worked with the SP Jain Institute of Management and Research.
The next step for Schulich, says Gary Brewer, vp finance and administration, was to take hold of the opportunity to deliver the program in India.
Schulich has signed an agreement with an Indian corporation to create a physical campus in the city of Hyderabad.
According to Brewer, the campus will be developed by a major Indian infrastructure firm called GMR Group, who will build the facility for Schulich. He also mentions that education is an area of high interest for GMR Group.
“They see the need for high quality post-secondary business education in India.”
GMR Group will own and operate the facilities where Schulich will deliver its academic programs.
“We are delighted to be establishing our footprint here, in a region of India that is fast becoming one of the new hubs of the 21st century global economy,” said Schulich dean Dezsö J. Horváth at the ceremony in Hyderabad this past July celebrating the new campus.
The Schulich campus is due to be complete by September 2013.
